Tuesday 1 May 2012: Rain
It's never going to stop. My hiking boots are waterlogged, the River Anker has burst it's banks, and much to the kids' disgust we keep losing the TV satellite signal mid-programme.
A frustrating day. I went out to buy a dress for Matthew's rugby presentation evening on Saturday. The rugby mummies are a glamorous crowd on a night out, so I need to get my act together. I'm crap at shopping though. I bought yet another long sleeved black t-shirt, flowers, and a Twix (shopping is stressful, ok?!) as the dress task was just too difficult. Bloody hopeless. My sister has given me a black dress from Therapy...I might just wear that so I don't have to repeat today's experience.
On a completely different tack, it's my nephew's birthday tomorrow. I can't believe it's been two years since my sister went into premature labour at 33 weeks and scared us all to death. That teeny tiny baby is now a healthy, strong, gorgeous little terror. That night, the weather was the same as it is now. When they named the baby Noah, the midwife (who is one of Louise's best friends and colleagues) told them to look out of the window - the hospital car park had flooded. An apt name if ever there was one :)
