Carrying out a photographic survey with your memory card in a laptop 40 miles away is not possible.
Just to prove how tittish I am, I took this same photo with the actual memory card stuck to my forehead......it took a good few seconds to work out why the camera wouldn't work.

As 'er indoors said to me recently in a moment of exasperation, "For heaven's sake, just be.....different!".
