Tuesday 1 May 2012: Little Tufty ...
Floraidh has grown since I was last on here - so has her crazy mop of hair!
It's been a beautiful day. I really needed it to be as I'm on my knees with exhaustion after another spell of solo parenting, with A away in Africa again and Finlay having been clobbered by a really nasty ear infection.
The stress of buying the house and all the problems that are coming with it is taking it's toll. Come on, people - let's just get this DONE!
So, I've got a mouth full of ulcers and eyebags that are spectacular in their purple hues ... But who the hell cares, because I have two amazing children that bring it all back to one thing.
Love.
Flopsy Mops, in the few minutes it took to take these photos, I felt so much love ... I love, love, love the wavy little tuft of hair on the top of your head. I love your quizzical look when Mamma's face becomes obscured by a camera and the little giggle you give when you see me re-emerge! I love your gorgeous, uncomplaining nature, smiling even with those nasty teeth coming in. I love the shape of your head, it's perfect. Little girl, I just love you to bits.
This is the first night since his Daddy left, that Finlay has gone to bed and stayed there. Touch wood. Having an evening without Boo running around like a mad thing is such a rarity. I guess those two wonderful hours we spent chasing dinosaurs on the heath this afternoon tipped the balance in favour of sleeeeeeeep.
We just spent the weekend with my little sister, who lives and works on a horse-racing yard. I had such a great time photographing the horses. I am going to backblip right this minute ...
And for once, I've actually managed to do so - hurrah! Last few days are now caught up with - only another zillion backblips to go. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day ... It's actually quite addictive now that I've finally started - which is encouraging, given the amount I've got to do. But now it's 10pm and I have yet to eat ... oops. Step away from the computer ...
