Wednesday 25 April 2012: Dere Street
Backblipped for Wednesday
On our way to the Midlands, driving down Dere Street on the A68, just south of West Woodburn, the typically straight line of a Roman Road.
By the time we passed Scotch Corner it was starting to rain; on the M1 after that it was very heavy and, with that and the spray from traffic moving at the speed limit, we missed the turnoff for the A1M so drove the extra miles past Leeds, which made for an unpleasant and tiring journey and were glad to arrive safely at the Travelodge.
