New Shore

The bus diversions have increased in number and complexity - this morning I could see from the LRT website where the route of the 36 had been diverted to but I could not for the life of me figure out where it might stop, so ended up getting something even less convenient. Still, I got a 36 back from the West End and heard the driver being given instructions re the diversion when they swapped shifts. When the bus got to this point, it should have turned left, strictly speaking, as although they'd just re-opened the Shore the bus stops weren't in place yet. But the sight of the open street and the signs saying no entry except for buses (and bicycles, pace Anth) was evidently too tempting, and if you look large you can see a merry little green bus trundling down to the bridge. Think it'll be a while before the car drivers read/understand the signs, though.

I had to trawl back a long way before I found when the works started. And now, as DaveH points out, they've closed the street behind for re-cobbling. As one door opens, another closes.

A day for annual appraisal at work and then dinner in the Vaults later with colleagues who are also friends. Good food and wonderful whisky as usual. We tried not to talk too much shop for Mr H's benefit...
