Friday 27 April 2012: Amanda
I braved the wintery cold and nipped across the road to the co-op to get some caffeine. Unbelievable, it has not stopped raining since I got here but probably has not even dropped half an inch. Just drizzle, drizzle and more drizzle. I chatted to Amanda on the till and persuaded her to let me take her photograph.
Later, when I showed John and Mike, they were surprised, shocked even. They were under the impression that she was not a happy person, but I guess if you are stuck at the counter of the co-op all day, you can't really expect much less, unless you get some chat going. I found her to be very pleasant and smiley and all I said was, "Hello my darling and how are you today".
