Every little hurts...

...the opening of a Tesco Express store on Cheltenham Road provoked riots in April 2011 in Stokes Croft.

The self styled "Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft" demographic is a mix of students, artists and members of Bristol's Caribbean and Somali communities.

The campaign against Tesco continues and its aim is to benefit people in all the different communities who live and work in the area, in mainly small independent stores.

As an outsider to the area it was interesting to see how quiet the Tesco store was at lunchtime in an otherwise busy, bustling area....
