Freyja and Her Pond.

The last few days were a rough patch -- fatigue and brain fog, mostly -- but today all that lifted and I got up early in the (real) fog and headed to the barn. Freyja came running when she saw me (!) and we went for a little wander through the fields and a stretch of trail that wasn't sodden. I practiced my Centerd Riding stuff (soft eyes, postural alignment, breathing) which felt really good. Freyja was calm (no sideways leaping, no dancing) but she did balk several times at my choice of route (no puddles/no reason I could see!). It's as though she had her own ideas about what should come next. We did circles and figure eights each time that happened, and then continued in the intended direction without further incidence. Not sure what's up with that...

Tomorrow G and Brillo and I are off to Guelph (near Toronto) for a few days. Animal behaviour conference for G and hopefully a look at some Curly Horses for me, as well as some walks with Brillo to new places. If another low ebb descends, well, we'll be curled up at the hotel resting. I'll catch up with everyone soon!
