Thursday 3 May 2012: Red light on K Road

Shortly after I started my run I reached the corner with Ponsonby Road (left from where I was standing) and Great North Road becomes Karangahape Road. Long the home of night clubs, strip joints and street walkers, K Road remains "alternative" despite aspirations to becoming proper.

The intersection ahead with the red light is with Howe Street which runs down hill to the left to the Auckland Girls Grammar School.

The sky was perhaps not quite this dark, although the colours are fairly accurate. I particularly liken the lights along the terrace of Victoria shops in the middle of the picture.
