HoiAn adventures

on the motorbike at 8am and off thru the villages of HoiAn - crossed this wobbly bamboo bridge and then stopped and watched the local traffic for a while
visited war graves, areas scorched by agent orange and then replanted by the australian and US govts - it still looks scorched and devastated despite the few trees that have managed to survive the poisoned earth
drove up up and up through the mountains (till I thought I was going to fall off the back of the bike to reach the Hai Van pass.....beautiful mountain with amazing coastal views (including the beach named China Beach by soldiers) - then down down down to visit more pagodas and giant buddhas and caves.... then 20 minutes away from the garage got caught in a mini typhoon - we stopped before we were blown off the road and took shelter in a shed while our bikes were blown across the road and peoples roofs ripped off.... it was bizarre going from scorching hot to soaking wet and shivering cold in minutes.... made it back eventually (my bike needed a tow from another bike) to cold beers and a sense of disbelief.....now I need to go to bed
