Friday 4 May 2012: Newhaven Harbour Barometer Case
I must have nearly blipped out Newhaven but there is so much of interest to me. This is where the Newhaven harbour barometer used to be housed. The red board was where the tide times was pinned. The case is on accomodation that once belonged to The Society of Free Fishermen. The Case was errected in 1775 then re-errected in 1900, I assume because the previous building was demolished. This current property was built around 1840.
