Friday 4 May 2012: Preschool Training
The message just spread and we finally had caregivers from all eleven new preschools, ready to go shortly after 9am. The children at Yoseah Moyo were there to greet us with their singing and after greetings all were in full swing. The first and historical training session was taken by Mary, Casca and Miriam was hands-on and practical with the children, while after lunch the children went home and proceedings continued until four.
Besides training each school got a pot for cooking porridge, a mat for the floor. enough mugs and spoons for every child about 500 in all, a bag of home made teaching equipment and finally five citrus and one passion fruit seedlings.
They all went home delighted and fully laden, some walking up to 6Km.
This is a major development in the Doroba area which will now see a building boom of 11 buildings!!.
Even the chief himself waited through every minute and took part in it all.
When the buildings are complete they will be used in the evenings for a programme of Adult Education, the next phase of the action plan.
Well done to Mary.
