Sam's Day

As some of you will know because of last year's blip, May 4th is a very special day for us. Nine years ago, our son Sam was born with a neural tube defect that was, as they call it, incompatible with life. Sam died after ten minutes.

May 4th now is a family day for us; a day on which we will celebrate Sam's short life and the impact he has had on us. A day for the five of us. We always have a lot of fun that day and it's great to realize we have a great family.

After enjoying a nice breakfast, we drove to the zoo in Emmen. As you can see, Inge, Nienke and Ellis had lots of fun and so did Martine and I. At the end of the afternoon we drove back to our village and went to a restaurant. A great way to end a day spent in harmony. One to remember, like we will remember Sam...
