Sunday 6 May 2012: Picture window
I've travelled a few times on the number 10 "eco buses", and appreciated the speed off the mark which the diesel/electric combination gives them. It is - to mention a dirty word - a bit like travelling in a tram in so far as concerns the speed off the mark from junctions. But today we sat at the front on the way down Leith Walk and I appreciated for the first time what wonderful picture windows they have, and as they seem to have non-reflective glass as well, the photo opportunities are just great.
Anyway, I've blipped Pilrig Church a couple of times before. But only ever in the blue sky. How lucky we are!
We were travelling back from a trip into town to have lunch with a friend who is in town briefly before going walking with another colleague/friend of mine. We decided to join the Sunday lunch "chardonnay" set and didn't hold back on the white wine. A bit like last Saturday afternoon in Stockholm. The difference is that this time we need to find space for dinner. We are going for supper to our new favourite place, Nobles Bar on Constitution Street, with the friends who are currently staying.
Now we are both gently snoozing/about to snooze in the chair.
