Donation Location, Aylesford

This "donation location" actually belongs to a Heart of Kent Hospice Superstore that is just round the corner from where I live. The building itself has had many other uses over the years from a petrol garage (long closed when we first moved here many moon ago) still with it's original, if rather rusty, bashed and neglected, petrol pumps to a Post Office sorting depot to a book depository.
At one point our village had two post offices and the sorting depot but now it has nothing at all - they used to be the places that many of the older people used to meet to collect their pensions or buy stamps or pick up their parcels. A petition was signed by many people to try and prevent the closures but after a period of "consultation" (i.e. they'd made up their mind already) they both closed anyway. It is such a sad thing to see the slow decline of the Post Office as a national institution - and with stamp prices increasing dramatically and the Tories fattening it up for privatisation I think we we will all regret its loss when it's gone.
