Sunday 6 May 2012: Sweet Baby Hummer Resting in Dogwood Tree!
I had a funny moment today.
I was trying to tuck under the buzzing bee filled maple to spy out a chance to photograph the hummer feeding on the blooming rosemary.
I have seen it for two days or more, zipping around.
The wind was blowing and it was bright and beautiful.
I watched the finches dart in and out of the arborvitaes where they have nests. The chicks would complain loudly for food. It was hilarious.
I felt a gladness when I heard the fervent beating of the hummer's wing.
I was able to get several shots in flight.
At one point it took rest just a few feet away on my Dogwood.
In between hummer visits I spied two varieties of big fat bees buzzing all over the fuchsia colored azaleas. I was able to get some fun shots.
I had a simple moment of pure gladness......
Glad that I could see this day.....
Glad that I could appreciate my tiny front yard full of activity.
Glad that I could look forward to showing you all my first hummer of the season.
I ended up choosing this photo.....The wind was whipping the blooms all around on the dogwood. The hummer's throat was flashing fuschia alternating with black. What fun!
