Monday 7 May 2012: If you cant stand the heat

This last three days have been awesome. This bank holiday weekend has been the Fife open studio weekend. This event keeps going from strength to strength, with an additional 20 exhibitors this year, giving a total in the mid 80's.

This particular guy is a blacksmith located in Auchtermuchty but for this weekend was in Ladybank and was in the process of getting ready to give a demonstration whilst making some pieces. At his own place he has a bigger forge but this is a mobile one he use for these types of events. He was able to place his hands on to try and get the fire going but five minutes later it would have been a different matter, as when at temperature it burns in the region of 1500 c. Ouch!
