Tuesday 8 May 2012: Sir Alan Ayckbourn, portrait
A portrait of playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn, to coincide with his latest productions, a revival of his 1972 classic, Absurd Person Singular, and a brand new play, Surprises, being premiered in Scarborough, at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
I shot this as he was taking a break after a photocall with him and the cast of the new productions. The light was too good to miss. I'm fortunate to know Sir Alan quite well, so just asked for a quick pic. He's not overly keen on having his photo taken (who is?!), but he knows I really am going to take a quick pic, so this was probably a 1 minute photo op'.
