Tuesday 8 May 2012: Akamas
We've had a wonderful day today, we hired some mountain bikes and drove out to the Akamas peninsula in the West of Cyprus. We cycled for a couple of hours (I am very sore!) and then had lunch at The Last Castle, which is a little restaurant perched up a hill overlooking Akamas. There are no menus - you eat whatever they're cooking, and you are seated on old stone seats, under a canopy of vines. It was gorgeous. We finished the day with a bit of beach time - the beaches on Akamas are quite hard to reach, as the roads here are not tarmaced, but it is worth the bumpy drive as they are absolutely beautiful.
