Albert.
When I found out his name was Albert I asked him if this was the name he had assumed after moving to Alberta. "Not at all" he said, Albert is a very common name where I come from".
Lake Victoria is in the the vicinity of where he is from, and it is feasible that her consort Albert may have leant the name some credibility. When I was in Tanzania, I came across an elephant named Albert, but he was named after Albert Einstein.
Anyway, welcome to Alberta, Albert.
