Wednesday 9 May 2012: Thinking Out Loud
The past weeks have been strange, blip wise. My enthusiasm disappeared - and for someone who's a true blip addict, with 466 consecutive entries under her belt, this was disconcerting. I've posted some very half-hearted photographs (I'm not fishing for compliments here - I hate that) and have resorted to panic blips at 5pm in the garden, something I avoided for a year.
I updated my VERY out-of-date bio last night, in the hope of receiving advice from long-term blippers who have hit this wall. I'm not doing the dramatic 'That's it! I'm packing it in!' thing, I just need a brand new approach.
This entry by Sarah Horrigan smacked me around the head the other day. It makes sense. So, if I want to post kid blips, I will, despite thinking other people might find them dull. When the 'year ago' square pops up, I only click on it if it's a holiday photo, or a shot of Matthew, Anna or my nephew Noah. It's amazing to see how they've all changed. I think the 'family journal' aspect is more important to me than trying to take cool shots, which other people do so much better anyway.
If you're still reading, have a BIG gold star! Just needed to put it out there, and I'm aware that a couple of my blip-mates are at the same stage. I'm not after reassurance, but hints and tips really are more than welcome :)
So. Here's Anna, playing cards at 8.30am, before the school run. Cards that came with her new 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 - Chipwrecked!' DVD...and no, I don't recommend it, unless you have a VERY good pair of earplugs. It's worse than The Squeakquel', and I didn't think that was possible :-/
