Can you see that there is the tear-drop?

for it was a goldfinch no show this morning - therefore my substitute is my poinsettia, known all over the world as the flower of Christmas. Growing naturally in Mexico, the plant was named after Joel Poinsett, who introduced them to the United States in the early 1800s.

Blooming Time: November-December. Ha! Why mine is growing so well still is a mystery as it hasn't had much care. Perhaps that is why there is a tear!

Poinsettia flowers are small golden cups, known as cyathia, at the top and center of the plant. The red, pink, or white bracts surrounding the inflorescence provide the coloring.

The full latin name is Euphorbia pulcherrima ( pulcherrima is a superlative of beautiful).
