Thursday 10 May 2012: View from the Torni Hotel
The Torni Hotel in Helsinki has an interesting history. It was the base for the Soviet High Command during the war, I believe. It has distinctive art deco and art nouveau styles, although the dinky little room I'm in seems to me just like standard Nordic minimalism, if you ask me.
As we are two hours ahead, and Finnish restaurants shut early, if I don't rush off and find something to eat now I will be starving until tomorrow morning.
