Thursday 9 October 2008: Gathering Colors II

My apologies for another "foliage + pond" blip this week, but there was something about today that made me think our fall colors are right at their peak. Unfortunately you never know for sure until after the fact, when they start fading. I want to capture as much color as I can.

I feel like the little mouse in Leo Lionni's children's story Frederick. In the story, while all the field mice are busy gathering food for the winter, Frederick sits in the sun and gathers the warm colors. When winter comes, he warms the other field mice with his descriptions of the beautiful colors he gathered. Anyhow, I'm gathering colors this week while the laundry and dishes pile up.
