Thursday 10 May 2012: Teacher Appreciation Week !!
Monday - verbally thank your teacher
Tuesday - bring your teacher a flower
Wednesday - wear your teachers favorite colour (we had green and purple t-shirts)
Thursday - bring a sweet treat for your teacher
So we made our American teachers good old Scottish Tablet!!
For those not familiar with it, it's made with love and a lot of patience (and blisters in my case) It's not to be confused with Fudge or Toffee. Tablet is a medium-hard, melt in the mouth confection from Scotland.
For most Scots tablet is their favourite sweet, especially when home-made.
Tablet is a traditional after dinner sweet and graces many a Scottish wedding or function as the finale to a special meal.
The teachers LOVED it, as did my neighbour and my American friend as I shared the love of Tablet today :)
