Feeding Time

Not long ago we watched the bluetits taking building material into the box and got excited at the prospect of a new family. Then all went quiet and we thought they'd given up.

Today we have been watching the pair dashing back and forth bringing caterpillars (see in large) and taking away the odd faecal sac.

Regarding our other 'family', despite information on the web that the tadpoles would need meat when their back legs had emerged, which would appear to be some way off, we though that we would offer them some liver (a thin strip of about 5cms) to test their appetite. The terms Feeding Frenzy and Piranah come to mind - the string is a mass of wriggling shapes. When the water is less turbid it stops raining I'll try to blip them but today the bluetit parent wins.
