Tuesday 8 May 2012: White Horse Close, Edinburgh
Had a meeting this morning which I'd decided to host in our holiday cottage near the Royal Mile.
As I was sitting preparing, the sound of bagpipes came drifting over and I thought there was maybe a parade on in the Royal Mile. Turns out it was just a rehearsal for tomorrow's parade at which the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay (as we know them in Scotland) were taking the salute. I missed all of it, but wandered back to the cottage via White Horse Close, which is a favourite spot between Canongate and Calton Road.
The whole area is simply steeped in history.
