Saturday 12 May 2012: Happy Mother's Day Eve!

We had a fun Saturday, taking it a little more slowly than usual. Larkyn still wanted to go see "Marmee/Grandpa," (her grandparents) to show them her necklace (which she wore all day long), so we stopped at their house after lunch.

This evening, we met my parents, my brother, and his wife for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day, which is tomorrow (for those of you not in the States). My sister-in-law has a huge family and they will be celebrating together tomorrow, so our celebration was moved to tonight.

Before meeting the others, Larkyn and I took a little walk around the resort where we were going to have dinner. For some reason, little gnats kept hovering in front of her face as she walked, so she would cover her mouth and squeal, which is what she is doing in this photo. You can see one of the offending gnats off to the left in the photo. I don't know if they just really liked her, or if it was her height, as I didn't have any flying in my face. So, I ended up carrying her most of the way back as she was scared of "yucky bugs!"

You'll notice she had, of course, her necklace on, and also rocks in both hands. :-)

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers everywhere, whether your country celebrates it tomorrow or not! You're all special. :-)
