Sunday 13 May 2012: A Babe AND a Fox...

And to think I'd been disappointed by missing out on a Kestrel shot on the slopes above Duddingston Loch about half an hour earlier.... Stopped by Fox Bank on the way home, before getting a paper to digest over breakfast, and had a couple of curled up sleeping foxes to make the stop worthwhile. And then... I had a gander at what I thought was the den entrance after spotting a cub there fleetingly yesterday. Wasn't expecting much, but then one of the parents came back and not one, but two, cubs came out to play.

Really young, only just got the beginnings of their orange growing through (so a bit younger than the ones Trev has living in his garden). I'll be watching with interest (and hoping for a brighter day, and the wind not sweeping foliage in front of ever shot - still, hard to believe this is all within sight of a main road...).
