I've lived in Leith for a few years now, but I still haven't got used to the fact that sometimes you look down a street......and there, just beyond the traffic lights, is a great big yellow ship.
That was an early visit to the allotment, accompanied by grey skies and a fairly howling gale. Time was when a trip up there enthused and energised me, but it's all been a bit downhill recently.
I was very sad to hear of the demise today of that superb, iconic bass player Donald "D" Dunn. In some sort of tribute, we spent the evening watching a DVD of the Blues Brothers, in which he features. (RIP - I think that should be Rock in Perpetuity).
