Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Across the lake

What a gorgeous day ! I took the top photo from our roof deck around noon of Gasworks Park on the north end of Lake Union - I like how those Olympic Mountains looked like they were snow piled on the bridge! Then later we met Son#1 and his family over there in the park for a Mother's day picnic so I'm looking back the exact same way, around 6:00. It's hard to describe our 9 unit 3 story townhouse building that looks so tiny here, but it's there , the roof line with chimney stacks just to the right of the line of fancy floating homes, behind the green hulled tug and behind some trees :-) We sat on the lawn just above where the sailboat is in the picture looking west. Well, some of us sat for a bit, and we took turns running all over after Fiona who only sat about 2 minutes.

The park used to be a real gasworks, converting coal to gas. My son reminds me (could I forget?) how he and friends used to climb all over those structures when they were kids. Now there is a chain link fence all around, but somehow the graffiti keeps appearing on the rusty stacks and someone fell from high up a few nights ago.

Much too busy again - spent from 8am to 10am in the apple store moving all my photos to an external hard drive and backing that up......and getting a new keyboard for H whose old one wouldn't hook in to his new mini mac without some adapter - it made the Apple guys laugh as they thought it was older than they were! (H resists change, but at least we've got the internet going for him now!)

When we got home from the picnic there were gorgeous flowers by the front door from the other son who couldn't make it to the park!!! And I have new Tatum drawing for the frig and my favorite chocolates! How lucky can a mother be?
