..the hobby of matchbox and match label collecting.

While in the local shop, buying firelighters and matches spotted these matchboxes commemorating Ginger Meggs, a long running comic strip about a red headed larrikin. The equivalent of, I would think, Dennis the Menace and with his pet dog Mike and a pet monkey Tony, Ginger has a long suffering family and gang of mates.
'Young' Ginger would now be 90+ and has also featured on a stamp, a silver coin and there has been a film and a musical and now an App! Not bad for a cartoon character.

I really like the matchbox set (and the matches come ALL the way from Sweden) and were I not in serious de-cluttering mode perhaps could become a phillumenist. There again they are very tiny and there could be space...but where does it stop!!
