Tuesday 15 May 2012: Common Dandelion
Taraxacum officinale
'Perennial which embraces a large number of 'micro-species'; lobed, spoon-shaped leaves forming a basal rosette. Fruits form familiar white 'clock'.'
Who would have thought that what we call a common weed had such a large Latin name? Looked at closely, it is very beautiful. Try it in large!
I expect you are all saying 'yes, as long as it is not in MY garden!!!!
A day around house and neighbourhood; had a hair trim this morning, then banking and shopping in the town centre. After lunch finished the delivery of the Christian Aid envelopes, (in bright sunshine, would you believe). All that remains now is to collect them on Thursday or Friday, hopefully with donations in them. About to do some ironing, but decided to upload my Blip first of all.
Hope all are having a happy and constructive day!
