Tuesday 15 May 2012: The Most beautiful pier in England?
According to Sir John Betjeman this title goes to Clevedon Pier. It looks not too bad this evening - - although, bit disappointing you can't walk on in after 5pm!
I finished a meeting early so caught a bus out of Bristol to Clevedon.
One of my favourite recent sci fi books was "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. It was turned into a film with Kiera Knightley. The critics gave the film a hard time but I enjoyed it and even shed a tear or two. I suppose the basic premise is that life is too short for missed opportunities.
Clevedon Pier is where it dawns on the "children" that their "originals" are not the ones hoped for...
