St Andrew's Hall, Norwich

St Andrew's Hall and Blackfriar's Hall in Norwich are the most complete friary complex surviving from the Middle Ages in England.

It was completed in 1449 as the Church of the Dominican Blackfriars, who were dedicated to preaching the Gospel and combating heresy.

On their suppression in England by King Henry VIII, at the Reformation the site was saved with admirable foresight by the Norwich City Corporation for use as a "common hall"; and is still used as such for Music and Beer Festivals, concerts, meetings and my old school's speech days.
