Wednesday 16 May 2012: Protesters Nil - Earthquake Won

Years of the community protesting against the 'Waters Edge Apartments' failed to stop this development - however the earthquakes have had the last say -down comes the 38 million 4 year old apartments in Ferrymead.
It dominated the waterfront in a largely low rise suburb, on known dodgy land.
Again it raises the question as to how engineers and council decide what type of properties can be build on swamp, sand and water.
Yes,Sad for some,maybe.Personally,glad to see it go, it should have never been built in the first place.
