SUPER MOON

SUPER MOON is a photo of the closest the moon is going to be to the earth in a long time. I just can not get my digital camera to take night photos like my film camera from 1960. My tripod was not working (broken) and this didn't help either.
When I try and set my camera up for a night shot of the moon it will not snap a photo unless I have some closer object in view like a tree
