The Way I See Things

Midwinter rose

I have blipped Lady Emma Hamilton before, when I first bought her to go in the new corner bed I was planting up; but I thought it was worth photographing this bud (even though I don't really expect it to open) as a reminder that spring isn't too far away.

ISO 400; 1/100 sec; f/5.6; 70-300 lens @ 271mm, hand-held.

For those blipfriends who were amused by yesterday's squirrel, I've put some more shots on Flickr, starting here. There are also three of a greater spotted woodpecker here. All were taken with the same lens, but through a double-glazed window; the camera was on a tripod, so the stabilization was turned off on the lens, but I used a cable release.
