Blood and gore!

After a period of discomfort in the left knee, Lindy decided that it was time to commit her fate to the medical profession.

She is an athletic person, running, cycling, squash, and has suffered a few unfortunate falls over the years.

A MRI suggested that there might be, amongst others, a meniscal tear, fissures and cysts present in the knee.

So, yesterday morning she had herself commited for an arthroscopic procedure. Damage was found as the MRI suggested.

The blip conveys how technology has progressed and how, through two tiny holes in the skin, the necessary could be done.

The fissures still cause some worry, though.

She was discharged the the same day with little or no discomfort, but woke up this morning and immediately realized that she was facing a different kettle of fish.

Being an up and about person, she is now immobilized and has to assume a horizontal position in order to have the leg elevated. Good for her and lovely rest!

One consolation: the name of the hospital conjures up magic and entertainment - albeit of a different kind!
