Glass Wall

The Christmas Letters (see yesterday) are all posted and the electronic version resized to a send-able number of MB and also despatched. The novelty this year in the physical version was a panel left blank in the back for a personally written message. We always wanted to add a few words for each person and got fed up with scribbling in the margins. It takes more time but was much more pleasurable.

This is taken out the back of the El Corte Ingles department store where we go to post them. It's a great service. They take our word for the number of letters in each of the categories (Spain, Europe, Rest of the World), we pay and they begin to put the stamps on as we turn and walk away with a sense of mental and physical relief. This together with the availability of self closing envelopes makes the whole process so much easier than it was twenty four years ago when we sent the first letter. Then, it was impossible even to buy envelopes in Spain with gum on them. We had to apply our own!
