Thursday 17 May 2012: close encounters..
.. of the blue tongue type.
Without the car today, our walk was a local one and it is always surprising what one stumbles across in suburbia. Just up the road there are a couple of undeveloped blocks with trees, bush and undergrowth still in tact and therefore a haven for local fauna.
Kookaburras hang out in the trees and this blue tongue lizard was basking in the sun and probaby very close to his/her hibernation home.
Not that thrilled to see us! Must be Australian fauna week, what with the big roo yesterday and the lizard today.
