Restoring an old tradition ...

I've been lucky enough to witness an old tradition being restored when away on holiday. This man (my father-in-law) MADE FIRE !!!
They had this oven restored some years ago and they use it once in a while (specifically to bake / cook lots of food for big occasions). We were celebrating someone's birthday with around 40 people and decided that bread, chickens, sausages, patés, desserts .. etc should all go in there for the party :)
It took about 90 minutes for the oven to heat up and it was absolutely captivating to watch the whole process. Strangely enough I think fire and water, even though strict opposites, are 2 of the most fascinating elements to watch, I must have stayed around 2 hours taking photos (in the region of 300 + shots).
That was on a friday, the oven was still hot on the sunday afternoon!
