Hospital

Following many years as a workhouse, our holiday venue spent a good number as a hospital. A good workhouse always had a hospital as part of it and the hospital function developed almost by accident from the sick wards of the workhouse. In 1929, the Local Government Act encouraged all workhouses to be thus converted.
