A flash of lightning

This is the 'Bliksemschicht' or 'flash of lightning', a metal structure which is a sculpture and a watchtower at the same time, photographed from a driving car on the highway against a low sun. Had to fiddle with layers and gradient filters to get the effect I wanted. The designer is Martien Kuipers, who said he designed this as 'an ode to the volatile traveler'. Its situated along the very busy A16 near Prinsenbeek. We were driving son no 2 to his home in Breda before going back to Belgium ourselves. The sculpture wasn't actually named, but the designer is happy enough with the popular name Bliksemschicht, as for him the shape is expressing speed and a flash of lightning has that speed too.

Thanks very much for your comments on yesterday's stationary clock :-)
