Rambling daily

Mrs Bakers view

Christmas decorations down, life can revert to normal again. We took the opportunity to walk around our beloved Stanpit Marsh where we live which is rarely possible during a working week. The marsh was saved for the public by the work of a Mrs Baker whose seat I love sitting on to cogitate and just commune with the beauty of where we live.

A couple of days ago I blipped a distant view from St Catherine's Hill and mentioned beach huts on Mudeford spit and Christchurch harbour. The huts on the horizon are what I was referring to with the edge of Hengistbury Head to the right. The Isle of Wight is in the distance beyond though barely visible today. The way out of the harbour to the sea through what is known as the run is to the left of the black building, known as the Black House which is near the end of the spit.

Tomorrow sees the start of another working week...only 83 working days to my retirement when I can volunteer as a warden on the marsh.
