Wednesday 16 May 2012: Stitchwort and mud
Thought I'd try a different lunchtime route today but was completely scuppered by the churned up muddy paths. I think the tracks through the woods are heavily used by horse riders and they were virtually impassable by foot (I'd have needed a good pair of wellies rather than my trainers).
I did come across a pond full of huge tadpoles and got a good view of a low flying red kite heading into the trees. This greater stitchwort is out everywhere and looks so bright in the sunshine. I love the grooves in the petals.
