Shore Man

Decided to take a wander down to the Shore at lunchtime in the rain.

Came across this guy at the end, sitting on a bench, looking reflective. Slightly out of view, I'd never gone down that far to notice him before. Perhaps everyone else knows of his existence but for me Edinburgh is full of little surprises like this.

This is Sandy Irvine Robertson. As far as I can tell he promoted charities, started some Business Achievement awards and liked wine a lot. And the Queen gave him an OBE no less.

There is a hint of Terry Wogan about him I think.

My immediate thought today however was someone get this man an umbrella.
