the edges of my life

lawn mowing bears

we joke about the bears released into the new enclosure House 4 that they are becoming a bunch of cows... so much long grass and different weeds to explore... naturally at this time of the year wild bears are quite herbivorous anyway as fruits and nuts etc still scarce....
i like this photo as it really looks like a lawn now.......and the way the bears throw shadows in the late afternoon sun (you cant see it as its such a large enclosure but it does have a huge pool, platforms, digging pits, rock piles, climbing areas and a beautiful mountain view.
these bears have been outside before and are comfy with scary things like sun and wind and grass and pools and climbing platforms and digging pits.... some in the group are a little bit more timid and just watching and learning the more adventurous get about..... I just can't describe how wonderful it is watching abused bears who have never been outside since being caught.... step out.
meantime now it is late at night and i am still faffing around trying to pack for a weekend visit to a specialist in Bangkok that might turn into a hospital stay.... hoping to get some help for my hands and back to keep me here and its cheaper to fly to bangkok than to home.... nervous and apprehensive and just want it to be over and in a place where I know what my options are....
gonna be a bleary eyed nervous mess by the morning....
ok - back to packing
g'night
