Wonderful wonderful Copenhagen

Day 1 of the annual Christmas trip, this year to Copenhagen.

It was near enough 16:00 by the time we got into the city and dark by the time we booked into our hotel. The weather was foul so we didn't plan much exploring.

We had arranged to get free bike hire from a small charity in the town and were to pick up our bikes at 19:30. However, after exploring Nyhavn and taking this photo of Hotel d'Angleterre, we received a text which postponed the pick up until tomorrow morning.

We had decided to treat oursleve sby booking into a fancy restaurant that served up New Nordic Cuisine. It wasn't cheap, but it was truly delicious. A fish course, followed by ox cheeks and some sort of grain pudding, all accompanied by wine selected for each course. We had never had a wine menu chosen to accompany a meal before, always thinking it seemed a bit pointless, but we are now totally won over.

We finished the night partying the night away in a small Danish pub, drinking Tuborg and Gloog.
