Sir Berkeley and the VCT celebration

Today marked the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Keighley and Worth Valley Vintage Carriage Trust in 1965.   The Trust was set up to safeguard the future of antique and vintage rolling stock for future generations. To celebrate the anniversary there were three shuttle runs between Ingrow and Keighley of the first two carriages to arrive in Keighley in 1965, hauled by the second locomotive to arrive that year, the Manning Wardle 0-6-0 saddle tank engine, Sir Berkeley.
Both engine and carriages were in sparkling condition, having been lovingly restored,  and buffed and polished to gleaming perfection for the day.   But of course, the weather didn’t co-operate.   There was a bitingly cold wind blowing and we had hail showers sweeping across the valley, but that didn’t stop the proceedings even though the enginemen had absolutely no protection in the cab of Sir Berkeley.   Hearty thanks and congratulations to them all.
(Have just replaced the original photo of Sir Berkeley and the old carriages with a much lighter version.   Opened Polaroid Blip this morning and the original picture looked so dark and muddy, I was very disappointed.   Nothing like the version I was seeing on my laptop.   Finding Polaroid Blip very difficult to judge at the moment.   Everything I put up looks so much darker once uploaded.)
